Track details
There are currently three tracks at the Ballina Racecourse.
The turf track course proper, used on race days, is open to the training of horses subject to certain restrictions and the weather, on average, one day a week.
There is another turf track, the “B” grass which is inside the course proper, and a sand track inside this.
The nature and dimensions of these tracks are given in the following table,

7 | Soft | A more rain-affected track that will chop out, on the better side of heavy. |
8 | Heavy | A soft track that horses will get into but not necessarily too wet, just worse than slow, but just into heavy range. |
